I didn't even know that there was a Waitrose in George Street. Bearing in mind that my building society branch is George Street, and it's a very short street, it shows how much attention I'm paying when I'm walking around Town.

As it happens Stoner, I'm working on a site bang opposite a Waitrose in Sanderstead/South Croydon at the moment. I go in there everyday to buy my grub and copy of the Guardian, although I really don't like the place compared to Tesco. As I stand at the one basket check-out in my dirty work clothes I like to sneer at all the old biddies buying their Daily Mails and frighten them. Sadly they don't sell the Morning Star which would add hugely to my undesirability in Waitrose, I have to buy that at the Asian newsagent down the road.

But it is a staff owned partnership, what closer to the communist ideal do you find in a capitalist system? After all they are softer on suppliers so that they get a decent living, Tesco are nasty capitalists in contrast.

Well in that case I'm going to have to completely reevaluate my politics - I love Tesco.

And another thing which winds me right up about Waitrose is that not only do I have to pay through the nose for their poncy pretentious products, but then they add insult to injury by giving a some green plastic coupon which is totally worthless to me. Just stop overcharging me and keep your bleeding coupons ffs.

Tesco overcharge you and give you club card points so you can save cash if you are loyal, Waitrose expect you to be altruistic like them and allocate the benefit to charity. You are a capitalist pig.

Do they sell the Morning Star at Tesco, we used to take it in my house at school because someone managed to hoodwink us that it had a good racing tipster - like hell it did - the idiot got confused with the Clarion which had been out of print for years. I believe your cycling club was a member of that, EL, but then I would expect nothing less.

some green plastic coupon

you're supposed to put that in a perspex bin near the door to indicate your preferred local charity for the store to donate to 🙄

Everytime you take one home, an orphan losses and Xbox.

You heartless marxist you! 😉
