Admitedly might be better asking on a VW forum but anyway, I'm shortly going to be doing some tinkering on the father in laws VW T25 camper, does anyone have a PDF parts ID for one?

and who's best for online sourcing of OEM/genuine VW parts?

just kampers and or vw heritage are good sites and have diagrams for most bits so easy to get the right bits (for a T2 at least) VW heritage is free delivery if over 25 quid or something. You prob don't need the parts list using their sites.

Also GSF is cheap and has a lot of stuff

cough, might have a copy of the bentley manual in pdf and ekta on cd if you need it /cough

For parts you wont beat Brickwerks for quality, price is good and delivery is super quick. most JustKampers parts are terrible quality, I bought a couple of panels for mine in the summer and I'd have been better using old baked bean tins. Avoid GSF's cheap range, if you've got to use them only buy the premium brand bits, I bought some suspension bushes and wheel cylinders to get through a MOT a couple of years ago, by the next MOT the cylinders weren't returning and one was leaking and the bushes had cracked enough to fail the MOT.

Diesel or petrol, and aircooled or watercooled? (although you can't have an aircooled diesel!) Might have an aircooled manual knocking about....

Diesel, watercooled, G reg so 1990ish.
I've got the HBOL (Haynes book of lies) but could do with a parts ID-if these old VW's are anything like LR's every single part is still available providing you can find a number for it.

bentley manual is the american version of the HBOL but written by people who know about cars (and how a manual should be written) 🙂 ekta is the VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda main dealer parts lookup software, part no's and diagrams etc. TBH you don't need ekta for a T25 as bits are either available from factors, specialists like Brickwerks or there are a couple of german sites www.busparts.de and www.volkswagen-classic-parts.de for the obscure obsolete bits.
If it's the original engine then it's basically a 1.6d as fitted to golfs and passats but with a different sump and dipstick.
What do you need to do to it?

What do you need to do to it?

not much..........

........Welding the underneath of the front steps/forward of the wheel arch on both sides, underneath of the sliding door sill/runner area, front wheel bearings, full gear linkage bush/bearing replacement (virtually impossible to select reverse due to the amount of slop), its using loads of water so possible HG/waterpump/something else change?, burning water&oil on startup so possible valve stem /top end job, reposition badly installed silence/exhaust system to stop it clanging on the cover/guard, rebushing the front wishbones, decent full service. Probably a 1000 more jobs to add to that list once I get started.

Ebay+aged parent in laws=shed.

Take up the offer on the bentley manual if you can it's the official dealer manual nothing like haynes in terms of detail
Get over to the brickyard for advice on mechanicals but remember not everyone is a self proclaimed legend
Not really had too much trouble with gsf parts myself over the years

Good luck

this is weird, I just came from the 80-90 forum, and you're here as well. If you're ever in yorks I'll make you a brew! re parts list, I've got a copy of HBOL going cheap cos i'm aircooled and my book is for wasserboxers. I also have the bentley PDF if its of any use to you. I'm doing up my 2.0l panel van, (which involves loads of research etc) so give me a shout here or on 80-90 or brick yard if there is anything you need help with!

Good luck with it all, I was going to buy an old 110, but a T3 just seemed much nicer!
