Well I've got to tell you that, and I hope it will make sense to you. I registered for postal vote. I got the stuff through the post last Thursday. Unfortunately the slip for the local election, green, was missing. I called the council and I've been told they'll send back another one straight away to me. On Monday I still haven't received the envelop. I was not at home for the rest of the week but by Wednesday, there was still nothing. I called on Wednesday, 10am, and they told me to call back after lunch time...1pm (= 3h lunch ?) I called back and they told me they will call me back. At 4pm, still nothing, I called back, and they assured me that they will call me back. They did, this morning, to tell me to drive to Chippenham and pick up the missing slip at the council. What was the point of postal voting for people like me not working at home? Most people forget that people died in the past for us to have the right to vote today. If you think voting won't change anything, go live in a dictature then. So it looks like for my council, that's just what we need, a good old dictature without this non-sense of election.

What was the point of postal voting?

As I understand it, the point of postal voting is to allow entire families of dead or fictional people living in our larger cities to vote for councillors who would otherwise struggle to get elected.

I'm postal vote registered, so they don't have my name in the polling station, so I can't vote there.
