3rd! In the whole race or just the Fleet?

Either way, nice one

I'm 'Woolbooloo'. In second of the STW fleet, behind Terpischore, who has all the gizmos.

Last two legs were a disaster. Too many bugs in the game.

Anybody know where The Ancient Mariner is off to?

He appears to have done well in recent legs so I am assuming a differing strategy, rather than him deciding to try to watch the Tour of California

ok so me and woolbooloo are 0km apart, the same distance from the finish, yet he's 400 odd places ahead of me?

how?

this is kind of a maritime 'mornington crescent', isn't it?

Is he better looking?

You'll be in front of me soon, Pook; you're in faster wind. I'm staying this side of the line, though; when everyone has to start turning in, the ones below the line will be facing the wind more head-on.

I don't like the way Aldabra and Ariadna, previous leg winners, are way up to the North, though...

Is he better looking?

Definitely the most rational explanation, actually.

ok so I've decided to follow the ocean streams and then fly down the coast of south america later. I expect to lose a lot of places now.

"Anybody know where The Ancient Mariner is off to?"

as you've guessed thought i'd try something different.

it could turn out very badly... or it could go really well.. but i looked as the position of the Ice Gates after New Zealand which seem to stop you getting into the good winds further south - as per the Vendee Globe race, and alot of tacking needed on the prevailing winds to the north of Australia and NZ - so thought i'd keep north of the Tropic of Cancer, till sometime nearer USA, then cut down through the doldrums.
But its a much longer course. so while the winds may get me more speed, it might not be enough to offset the more direct route.
