Ok I might be being a bit of a nerd here but I’ve been watching a volcano kin Iceland for the last 2 weeks or so, is awesome, stunning. If I had the money I’d go and watch
This guy is very knowledgeable about what’s going on and what the video to the end for some stunning views
And then a live feed. Is slowing down a bit at the moment but has been amazing with some fountains hitting 1.000ft in the air!

Iceland's amazing - imagine that it's been designed by Slartibartfast's mate then a group of nursery school kids have been let loose colouring it. "Why is it called 'Blue Mountain'?" "Because it's blue silly." "Oh, yeah"
The countryside is littered with pockmarks from where jaws have hit the ground.
The only downsides are the weather which can make a wet Wednesday in Cumbernauld seem appealing and the cost.
I visited a house in Reykjavik. There was no central heating boiler, just an incoming hot water main. It loops through your heat exchanger and goes on to the next house. It's a little less hot for the houses at the bottom of the the hill but still very workable.

Similar set up in St Petersburg when I was there 20 years ago, except they didn’t have the geo-thermal activity to heat the water and the further you lived from the power plant the colder your house would be!
We went in 2016. Did the "Inside The Volcano" thing. Expensive, but worth it. The colours inside are stunning.
The rest of the country is stunning as well. Smashes home quite how alive the planet is when its belching and farting and oozing at you. We want to go back with bikes and get into the interior a bit.
If travel was easier/more money available I'd be there watching the volcano.
