Opened an infected email by mistake,"half awake mode".
Result Fake alert keeps coming up trying to get me to buy internet 2010 security pack, and loads of addware.
downloaded AVG freebee did scan ,for items won't go.
system won't let me do restore point now seems to be blocking me .

Have you tried downloading Spybot - search & destroy - if you run that it should find the little ****er & nuke it.
Also Malwarebytes,and search online,son had this last year,took a couple of goes to get rid.

If it's really really broken.... This may or may not work, but is (slightly) easier than a total re-install (maybe) - or get a Linux person to do it for you.?
- Download Ubuntu (or a Linux of your choice - Ubuntu has very good forums/support in my opinion) and burn a live cd. (See [url= http://www.ubuntu.com ][/url])
- Boot computer from CD (Try Ubuntu without changing the PC or similar option)
- Use Aptitude or Synaptic to install Clamscan, and all the updates
- Mount your Windows drive
- Run Clamscan on that drive
- Take out the CD and reboot
I run Ubuntu at work and routinely use Clamscan to find/remove viruses that Symantec/Norton/AVG won't touch
If you install Avast Antivirus, when the computer restarts it will scan the computer before windows and any malicious programs can boot.
Its free, it won't search your files then ask for $25 to fix it 🙂
THanks for all help guys n did spybot search n destroy ,malware/adware then the thing mutated big time n stoped me even logging into the computor total , so had no option but to do total reboot .
SO BE WARNED GUYS IF YOU ANYTHING POSING TO BE FROM UPS TRACKING DEPT AND YOUR NOT EXPECTING TO GET ANY INFO FROM THEM .DON'T OPEN IT .

And don't open any files from tracking company if your expecting a parcel, they send links to to track an order not a file.

It sometimes takes a couple of days to get a response but nice to know for sure that everything is clean.
