Someone on some other thread referred to 'Those Were the Days' and it got me thinking about Mary Hopkin's version. I love that tune.
Post your favourite pop song(s) from the 1960s or 70s, no matter how cheesy. This might include anything from Cat Stevens to Boney M, just as long as it had mainstream radio-play.
Rules:
1. They must be actual pop songs; not just some obscure personal favourite, or metal (unless the tune got mainstream play).
2. Ideally, post one from each of the two decades.
3. Feel free to post more than one from each, but keep the decades even (e.g. 1 60s + 1 70s, or 2 60s + 2 70s etc.)

Pop that kids listened to, not their parents.
Used to hear this song played regularly on Radio Luxembourg, but it never did much in the charts:
Until a couple of years or so later, when this version did:
It's a Game, original version by String Driven Thing, chart version by The Bay City Rollers.

From 1964, always loved this song, still do:
Pet Clarke Downtown
From the 70's, another song I've always loved, later made into a really crappy sort-of cover:
John Kongos He's Gonna Step On You Again
Pop Music you say? Well 1979 was good:
Never fails to get me bouncin', just so funky.
Petula Clark is headlining Cropredy for one night this year. God only knows where that came from...
