The "think of the children" excuse is often trotted out, and it's rubbish - as the person from the contractor says in the article, cranes have lots of anti-climb measures (usually) so it's not something a bored kid would go do on a whim.

Reading the comment on YouTube he did take 3 months to get walking again.
A mate of mine was a base jumper - he died in a fall in December 2009. A video of some of his stuff:
I was fine till he hung from the crane with one arm. 😳
And I did a little giggle at the base jumper - it was the big splash of snow 🙂
