I really really hate you.
Barclays seem to have stopped requiring it on my cards.
just press the <no thanks> button - it still pays for the item
Why? Cos you have to remember a password?
already registered, but wont accept my password. so had to create new password that is an ordeal.
Some banks providers are automatically authorising - MBNA for one. They lose more in commission on sales not completing than they have to pay out in compensation for fraudulent purchases.
Totally insecure as well, you can just click 'forgotten your password' and enter a new one then and there which means so can the guy with your card details...

"vented by visa" surely.
Because it won't let you reuse a password each subsequent reset becomes evermore elaborate until the next time I forget it.
The current password is about 15 digits long and contains capital letters, numbers, punctuation marks and two ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs - and to keep me sane is now written on a post-it note stuck to the monitor.
Yup it's a massive PITA.
just press the <no thanks> button - it still pays for the item
