Thinking of replacing my vw caddy maxi life people carrier (so classed as a car by dvla and insurance) with a T6 panel van or window van.

I have full no claims on the car insurance what happens to that if I have to change to van insurance? Do I have to start from zero again? Will I loose it all again if I swop back to a car?
Guess I'm going to have to get commercial van insurance even though I won't ever be using it for more than driving to and from offices for my desk job?

Help would be great

No Claims Discount is No Claims Discount, you could well find that you just swap the vehicle over on the policy you already have

they will try and fear you by saying you cant swap your NCB back and forth between van and car. they tried that with me.

but you can - and i have - and back again - and back again ..... i even got the van insurance recognised on my classic car insurance....

Most of the insurers we use will let you move NCB from car to van and vice versa but not all.

In answer to your question, ask your insurer.

Not many of our panel will let you insure a van on a car policy however, often it's cheaper to cover a van on a specific van insurance. More policies are set up this way so more competition between the insurers and as such, lower pricing.
