We've currently got a V+ box, but are upgrading to Tivo next week. We've got a few things recorded which we''d like to keep (including the program my Mum was on!), is there any way I can save the programs to a computer or should I just accept that we'll loose everything? Thanks.

You can copy to a DVDr or similar, not tried a PC

There's not much point in us doing that as we've only got one TV and don't want / have no need for another!

We've only got a little house, I don't want any distractions in the bedroom (on the odd occasion when she's not got a headache sod's law would mean that there's something interesting on TV!) and it's far too cold in my garage, so I don't know where we'd put a second one!

The only way I can see that being a possibility is if you used a capture/TV card in your PC
There's is no way to transfer the recordings from the V box other than the Scart output
