We will be in touch
There's what we call a 'zero day' exploit kicking about affecting all versions of IE (from 6 upwards), which means that a security patch has not yet been released for it (and if you're on Windows XP, never will).
In the meantime, you can disable the problematic module with the following command at a cmd prompt. This disables a vector graphics plugin which the vast majority of people will never use anyway.
"%SystemRoot%\System32\regsvr32.exe" -u "%CommonProgramFiles%\Microsoft Shared\VGX\vgx.dll"
The bug is officially named "CVE-2014-1776" if you want to google for more info.
Those not using IE or not using Flash will be unaffected (Flash is used as an exploit entry point, but for once it's an IE bug rather than a Flash one).
done, cheers
Ta. 🙂
