[Closed] USB / card reader ports on lap top question

They seem to be becoming less reliable when it comes to connecting with things and seeing the card of late.

Any ideas?

Could be getting clogged up, does it have a blanking plate to install when not in use?

Maybe a blow out with compressed air and clean with some electronic contact cleaner?
