I have a posh Sony Vaio i5 notebook from about 2014.

It could do with more SSD adding (128gb at the mo) and potentially more RAM (8GB now).

Tinkering with computers isn't my thing at all, so how can I go about this? A local computer-fixing business?

Based NW of Manchester.

It's meccano or grown up lego, do it yourself (if you can build a bike, you can install an SSD), as you'll pay a premium for someone else to do it. There's no real technical knowledge required.

Select the model that resembles your and take a look.. it's easy.

Memory is even easier..

and you probably need this one too... Installing Windows 10 from USB:

Bring it to Burnley and I'll do it.

What are you doing with an 8-year old laptop that 8GB isn't enough?
