[Closed] Unwanted olympics tickets

I know you're asking for advice rather than seeking buyers, but like slimjim I'd definitely be interested if you decide to sell.

Hmm, OK I'll bear it in mind fellas (like I said they're only potentially unwanted at this stage). They'll probably appear in the classifieds if I do need to get rid of them.

Also, still not sure if I can actually shift them or not, wouldn't want to sell them to someone and then they find they can't get in!

I think you have to show the Visa card you bought them with - wasn't there something about having to make sure that the card didn't expire before the date of the event?

Slightly OT - has anyone actually received their tickets yet?

Aah, that may make sense, however surely it'll be a nightmare to have to see that many peoples visa cards?!?

edit: wasnt the expiry thing from when you bought them as they didn't charge your card until the tickets were allocated, and even then you didn't find out what the tickets were you paid for?!?

Dont know if they've arrived yet, think my wife will have put them somewhere safe if they have, might check on that!

Isn't the official reselling website up and running again? I got rid of mine on there. The beauty of it is that now rather than matching you with a buyer the computer problems mean that the organisers simply buy the tickets back from you and it's their problem whether or not they can sell them. Unofficial reselling isn't allowed and I'm pretty sure they'll check on such things.

What can I do with tickets I no longer want?

Our ticketing policy states that tickets are non-transferable. However, providing you as the lead booker are contactable on the day in case of query, a member of your family or a friend may use tickets you can no longer use.

Alternatively, you will have the opportunity to resell your tickets at face value through the official London 2012 ticket resale programme. This is the only authorised way you will be able to submit your tickets for resale.

The first resale opportunity has now closed. There will be a further opportunity to submit you tickets for resale in the Spring.

So you can sell them as long as you're contactable on the day, or there'll be another round of selling to come in the spring (isn't that now?!?)

I have some tickets for the olympics (MTB) that are potentially unwanted.

Its all rather confusing as to whether you can sell them or not (I wouldn't sell for more than face value) following the crash of the website that was supposed to enable this.

I have 4 tickets that all have my name on them anyway, so surely it doesn't make a difference if I sell them to someone and they go instead as the other people with me would have a ticket with my name on!?!?

Anyone else got unwanted tickets? What are you doing with them?

I guess they'll send them out following the second round of resales...?
