Ive found out that my Uni has dropped 2 out of the 4 modules I had planned to take next year, leaving me with a selection of modules that I have absolutely no interest in and no desire to study.

So Im thinking about doing a transfer to another Uni which is offering better modules.

Anyone know if this is possible? I cant ask my tutor as she wasnt in today and I wont see her until Thursday and would like to know beforehand if its possible to do this.

It would depend on a few things, such as whether the two courses and universities were considered to be of equal standing (i.e. going from a lower end uni to a red brick might prove tricky if the red brick thinks your course content in the other was naff etc), whether the two courses are similarly accredited etc. You need to speak to both of the universities involved, each uni will have its own rules and policies on these matters.

Oh and the other uni may want to look over your academic transcript so print it off before going to speak to them.

Ok thanks. Had a search on the web and theres bugger all information regarding this.

Will talk to my tutor on Thursday and see what needs to be done. The Uni I am at is OK, but nothing special and the one Im hoping to transfer to is slightly better but its by no means a red brick institution.

You might be able to finish your degree through the OU

Get all your units and content together and ring the other Uni's now!

Well when they are open.

My mum did the first two years of her law degree as a mature student at Southampton, then as the family had to move up to preston she applied to do the final year at both Manchester and Liverpool, who both said no, but Lancaster said yes. This was 15 years ago mind, so things may have changed since then.

OU isnt really an option as they dont do the modules Im wanting, they offer the modules I want to get away from!

Ill get the ball rolling on Thursday with this.
