what happened with the test case?

I seem to remember this was because the banks were being heavy handed and unfairly charging people when they had made a financial error, these being the same institutions that are now turning to the taxpayers for hand outs after it turns out that they have been even more irresponsible with the moneys people entrusted them with?

wasn't there a ruling due in February?

Somebody's been asleep. The High Court ruled last week that charges could be regulated by the OFT. last I heard, the banks were going to appeal.

Cue someone banging on about how it's the end of free banking and the world as we know it.

so does that mean that people will be able to claim back the charges? I'm all for kicking them now they're down if they felt it fine to financially penalize the general public when they were facing financial hardship. Looks like the boot is on the other foot now then! 😆

The banks have been given leave to appeal to the House of Lords so we're in for another 9-12 months of sitting and waiting.

I had a claim for about £1000 put on ice when the OFT case was brought so I'm keen to see a resolution too.
