Anyone know of a good website/book that explains what is happening around the UK in terms of weather. I don't mean the forecast but a website/book that has explanations e.g. fog today because <insert explanation of warm/cold fronts> and an explanation of other weather such as cross-sections of fronts, synoptic weather charts.

metoffice has plenty of stuff on this. failing that try wikipedia.
