It's certainly true that someone has been laying the groundwork for undermining this election for months and making moves that would sway things in his favour (judge appts, slowing the mail, challenging states rules that might increase Dems votes). He's funneled millions of taxpayers money into his businesses, put his family and people he owes favours to in the white house thus stealing even more money.
He's become such a hate figure, all his businesses will be losing money, the Apprentice money then the presidency saved his bacon but his properties will be owned by the banks when taxpayer dollars no longer prop them up, then theres that huge audit that will expose years of fraud, he is well and truly screwed when he's out of office.

What is quite surprising to me, and indeed scary, is how what Rani says seems to be quite true and reasonable on the surface. If you give it more that a nonoseconds thought you realise she's talking complete shite, but on the face of it the way she presents it is surprisingly persuasive. I'm not surprised that a lot of scum are taken in by it.

Or were effectively deterred by decades of (actual) gerrymandering and vote suppression by the republican party. Remember, because of the electoral college and winner-takes-all system, just like in the UK there's a huge percentage of people whose votes are fundamentally worthless. It really doesn't take much to deter someone who knows that from voting- you might queue for 12 hours in inner city Atlanta but would you in Alaska?
The irony is that voter suppression works best in the states that aren't really in play, of course.

Full MemberFox News, a very Republican News Outlet is being far more confident of a Biden lead than CNN or New York Times. They already have Biden at 264 with Michigan and Arizona blue, and saying things like “Biden is close to being on his way to the White House”.
I think, basically, that CNN have nothing to gain by calling early, and something to lose. Whereas for Fox, getting off the Trump train is a titanic job if they want to do it, and probably best started early. But very definitely they either need to avoid getting dragged into the endless war on democracy that threatens, or they need to go all in, and they need to decide that right now not in a few days time because then it'll be in full roll.

Forget the speech, McCain worked directly with Obama after the election to aid the transition, and not only that but defended Obama throughout the years that followed. Basically because you can, still, be a conservative but not an absolute thunder*, if you just try a little bit.
McCain's words and actions were consistent and reflected his basic human decency.
trump's words and actions are often contradictory and he doesn't have a shred of humanity or decency.
Completely agree it's possible to be a conservative and a decent person; many are but you wouldn't think it from the prize chumps who appear in the media.

Mccain was a pretty centrist republican. He didn't really have a place in the current party. The people that elected him for !any years have now elected a fairly centrist democrat.
