Twitter/X and chemtrails

I get a lot of EV posts on FB. Some are reviews, some are boneheaded anti-EV posts from Americans. You'd think that FB would be able to figure out which side of the fence I'm on.

Logged in on my phone

That might be your problem.

Chrome for desktop with uBlock Origin, I don't see ads on Twitter at all other than Follow suggestions in the right-hand bar and who looks at that. Facebook I have this link bookmarked, it puts your feed (mostly) back into chronological order.

You won’t find me arguing.

Blimey, I think the chemtrails are making some of you quite narky.

That’s why I won’t go on any threads on those sort of topics, unless I’m in a snarky, argumentative mood. Or I’m on here. Generally, it’s pointless arguing with complete idiots talking bollocks, they just wear you down with experience.

Instagram does suggest some good stuff to me at times. I'd hazzard a guess that this could interest some people on here, it's an old guy in a sawmill giving it a helping hand to get started. The sound is pretty awesome too on decent headphones.

Is the feed on X as **** annoying as instagram for hiding the one thing you actually want to see again, that you saw five minutes ago, in preference for showing you the same stuff its bombarded you with for 3 days and a load of other shite you’re not interested in?

About the only thing Muskrat hasn’t broken is that it is that your feed is still strictly chronological. If you use “For You”, you get only people you follow and in chronological order (with about 1 in 10 posts being an Ad).

Unless they’ve fixed it, the non-chronological nature of Threads is why I would never consider using it.

I’m not a New Year’s resolution maker but, thanks in part to the comments above, I have just gone cold turkey and closed my Twitter account and deleted the apps.  Let’s see if I can last…

I've done the same, second attempt, did it last year too. Gives you hours back in the day.

What I miss is customer services. Utilities, airlines etc. seem most responsive on X. Much more efficient than using the phone or a chat bot.

Literally the only time I've missed it is when someone's using it for news reporting, because you can only see the front page not the full thread. Luckily that's in decline and most places that used to rely on it have found alternatives but it's still annoying sometimes when you get an interesting link that's not interesting enough to go digging for.

Twitter is one of those things that seems invaluable while you're using it, but then you stop and it turns out that mostly all it's good for is twitter.

Musk charging stupid money for companies or organisations to use Xitter for emergencies has hamstrung many due to them coming up against post limits, one example being NERV in Japan, where help and warning information during the recent earthquake was prevented from being distributed for around thirty-forty minutes, right when it was most needed.

Xitter’s value is down 70% since Musk bought it, and set about systematically tearing it apart; not unlike a petulant, angry toddler.

Switch it to nitter.net
