Some sphere/stars floating above some rather unconvincing waves.

HTH.

What's the story morning glory was released 20 years and one month ago. Bohemian rhapsody was released 40 years ago.

It's a sail boat.

I've never seen one. Something to do with having astigmatism I've been told.

Another astigmatism sufferer here, don't really know if that's the reason I've never got them. I'm led to believe the one I've posted is the same image used as a prop in the aforementioned cinematic masterpiece, some geek screengrabbed it and photoshopped it back to the correct perspective. So those seeing the geometric shapes are right and in the movie, no one actually saw a sailboat.

I have never got one and no-one who claims to get them has ever been able to get one while I'm there. There's always some excuse about how it usually works and this has never happened to me before. Emperor's new clothes...

Lets hope the 20th anniversary is better than the pile of bollocks that was the 10th. Oh, Mallrats 2 you say? Oh well then...

I've got severe astigmatism, and saw exactly what porter_Jamie saw.

I find that putting them close to your eyes and pulling them away slowly trying not to focus an anything in perticular generally works.

We used to have a downstairs loo with a radiator that you could go cross eyed looking at with a similar effect to these pictures, so it looked nearer or further away than it really was.

Kept me amused for ages that did. I am easily amused.

Boring geometric shapes up top.
Boring circular cutty out bits in the middle
Blobby bits at the bottom.

Always been able to do these.

Got an astigmatism.. It's easy with proper glasses. It's about relaxing your focal point to be behind the screen
Unless you have one eye, or amblyopia or wildly different refractive indices in your eyes and you don't use contacts I'd think anyone could do it...

Used to be able to see these when en vogue all those years ago.

An iPad in the dark, a scarred retina and listening to modern jazz seems not to be working.

EDIT: seems that switching the light on did the trick. Yes, very boring.

Ive got astigmatism and I got it, despite the image being less than optimal: as has been said, top row is cross circle etc, standard geometric shapes, then a sphere with sections removed, the bottom row is a bit tricky, they look like trees, or possibly like alternating up/down egg-box sections.

standard geometric shapes

All concave. The second row, as you write, is weird spheres with various sections removed, like some weird geometrical Event Horizon nightmare scenario*. The bottom row - I'm guessing just convex to be contrary to the top line.

Hard to see on a small pic for me. I had to copy and enlarge.

*Edit - If you're a sphere, that is.
