Is that Elvis over there by that rock?
(EDIT: Go "Fullscreen" for maximum wows.)
Try it on an iPhone!
Stunning.
Anyone else getting an arrow telling them that Embudo Albuquerque is only 16.7 KMs from the Mars Rover ?
<tin foil hat>
Everyone knows that the Mars Rover has been sponsored by Elvis and Al Qaeda to cover up the fact that Tesco sponsored the invasion of Libya last year in order to corner the world market in builder's sand.

Not much to see really is there?
That's pretty cool on an iPad
"is viewing it on an iPad and is currently spinning around on the train"
teh awesomz
+1for the iPad experience; very cool link, thanks Stoner
I won't be happy until there is a confused looking being jabbing a finger (or other bodily attached pointing appendage) into the camera lens. Preferable there would be another one in the background and alien A is saying something like 'WTF is this Nigel?' to Alien B
Wow! Amazing how realistic looking they can make film sets these days.
Just a little disappointed that the arrows don't let you drive it remotely. ๐
Won't be happy until Fenton is seen chasing a herd of Martians across the rocky vista.
Ps, that is bloody impressive on the iPad I agree.
So they've put a google camera on top of it then?
That is cool tho.
You have to marvel at the world of Science these days dontcha.
I mean, once upon a none to distant past we wouldn't have been able to see this for years just in case some military might could use this against us.
Now, like wow.
We see this stuff (almost) live as it happens.
Amazing.
I do wonder if the images are filtered some way, I mean they've obviously decided not to show us the Alien Spaceship Bunkers and mahoooossssiiiivvvvvveeee cities with thier Canary Wharf like skyscrapers and neon flashing lights..
And all those "Jetsons" phut phut omnibubble travel pods floating around.
And that huge Face of John Lennon that they found in "Mission to Mars"
I'm also disapointed we can't get to drive it from our iPads.. Though I suspect we would crash it dead in seconds.
Looking forward to following this from now on.
I was looking at this on another website this morning - truly breathtaking.
Imagine what Olympus Mons looks like from the ground - having said that it's so big it's acclivity would extend into the horizon and it's breadth would be indeterminate - lost in the curve of the planet!
The science behind it all is staggering. What's more amazing is that as a news piece it will probably be a footnote to who Ashley Cole is boffing. This thread will drop off in quick time - whilst another less worthy discussion rages incoherently onward for 18 pages and more.
Quality. Thanks for posting.
Broke my head a little seeing the sun in the sky from a different planet.
It's almost as fascinating looking down at the Rover. (-:
Now if only they'd landed it near The Face On Mars...

cosmic
Image quality is outstanding.
Look down at the lander, its covered in stones.
Glad its not made by Hope- 'Bearings only lasted a week ? Send it back and we'll take a look'
seems to be quite a bit of gravel on the dune buggy from the landing -hope it doesn't jam the gizmos
That's mighty impressive. Not sure I could have resisted putting in a few jokes if I was the NASA image processing guy!
why does it say new mexico at the top?
