Hi all,

Trying to get my VW Passat into Green Engineering Mode and wonder if anyone can help? I don't have an OBD thingy but think I can do it with an SD card. Clueless about this stuff so any help much appreciated.

My serial code is MST2_EU_VW_ZR_P0137T

Thanks Chrisย

If you're talking about the audio system I did the wife's Boxster using an SD card (to enable Android Auto which was in the system but not activated as Porsche hadn't reached an agreement with Google at that time apparently], but a group of people have put together a bunch of files and a script that automated the whole process.
Despite it being automated it wasn't without risk and messing with the system still gives me the fear considering it's her pride and joy (almost!) 😬

Can't even remember where I found it..... through a forum though.

Thanks Sharkbait....yup, I wan't Apple CarPlay on my old trusty Passat. From the forums it suggests I need to enter this GEM first, before activating the patch via SD card.

Yes you need to be in GEM.
Just be wary as you can mess various things up if your not careful 🫣

Does anyone in the Midlands have a VW specific OBD I could use please? I think VCDS or OBD-eleven seem to be the best options.

Thanks in advance
