Why can't I get photos to post properly?
Followed the guide in the forum help but I just end up posting a string of text between the [img] [/img] tags.
Photo's are hosted on Google Photos if that makes any difference?

what link are you using?
I think it might be a Google issue as they stopped working for me recently too
Right click, copy image location and paste inbetween the [img] tags.
Google photos stopped you from doing that.
Imgur supports and provides the right code.
Does the text you have end in .jpg or similar? If not then you need another link. TBH I've found most of the big photo sites a pain as they keep changing how they share images. I just stick to imgur. Take seconds to upload and the link is right there in the correct format
