Brother Stoner wants a new travel mug for his birthday. Looking for something really good quality, doesnt have to be the size of a bucket, but must be really nicely made. Have a bit of weight to it etc.

Anyone treated themselves lately?

this one suits me, and just as important, my van. Just sits on the flat dash shelf. no good for going in cup holders tho.

cheers, but i think he's going to want to jam it in his car's cup holder.

He's got a golf or polo or something. No idea what the dash is like, but I doubt its as accommodating as a van's.

I have this one which I got through Go Outdoors and it works a treat, easy to drink out and no metallic taste. Fits in the cars cupholders which the previous one didn't. Also available in most colours.

Bodum travel mug. Fully sealed so you don't end up getting water from washing it in the insulated bit. Fits in a Polo dashboard cup holder.
Keeps hot for a good time as well.

Oh and you can get a travel press bit to go in it making it in to a coffee maker1

Also has a pressure release built into the cap to avoid accidental spraying of hot tea over cold hands.

OK. thanks all.

I think craig's gets it as
a) its leak proof,
b) comes in "tungsten"
and c) is sold by Wiggle so other things may accidentally fall in the shopping basket 😉

The other 99% think it's ok to change gear, tune the radio, do their hair, send a text, adjust the mirror, hold the map all while clutching that important cup of tea.

Just a little pet-hate of mine. 🙂 That unfortuantly I see all to often on my commute. 🙁

OK. thanks all.

I think craig's gets it as

One thing.......does that one have an opening to drink out of or do you have to take the lid off??
Won't be very good if used in the car while driving if you have to unscrew the lid.....

Trek do a fancy one that came with their Soho commuter bikes. The spares shop at the 24/12 was flogging them off. It's designed to fit a bottle cage, but it should also fit into the car. Might be a bit tall to be entirely stable......looks nice though:

Aladdin do nice recycled recycleable mugs now. Not so fancy but ethically getting there.

Starbucks do some really nice ones - the best one I had was one of theirs - really good lids on them too.
