I'm drawn to the compact nature of the Backpacker style diddy acoustic guitar.

I'm a beginner and had my guitar stolen (Yamaha Pacifica) and smashed by the local yoot about a year ago (no it wasn't my dreadful playing...I think) and haven't replaced it. I'm thinking about getting another and was considering acoustic instead.

I've also seen some mini electric guitars which have caught my eye. I don't have a huge amount of space and do have a lot of gear (bike stuff, climbing stuff, etc etc) so the stashability appeals. I'm on small budget too.

Please keep the snobbery to a minimum, I only want some advice!

There's a busker in Stafford who uses a Lapstick travel guitar and a little amp. It sounds brilliant. Helped no doubt that he's an ex-pro bluesman.

I tried to find these a while ago in electric form and could not. Where are you getting them from?

Cranes in Cardiff had them like 10 years ago but they knew nothing when I went in more recently.

I'm looking at the Hofner Shorty which can be picked up for about £90. This wonderfully cliche chap has positive things to say about them. I still have my amp, so could favour leccy instead.

He's worth watching just because 😀
