Question, got me a small trailer but the brittle hitch lock key snapped lol. When the trailer is on the car is there another means of securing the hitch (more to prevent it coming off than being nicked)

When I worked with trailers, a long long time ago, a hitch lock was purely for theft prevention. The hitch should have its own mechanism to prevent it coming off the car depending on the manufacturer.
Need a picture really.

^what marky said - lock is separate to the disconnection mechanism.

Do check please.

You should be able to hitch the trailer up. Then grab the drawbar and try and [s]pull[/s] haul with all your might off the towball. It should not come off...
