I need to find a tune my dad used to play a lot. It's jazz, it's played on brass (trumpet I guess so could be Miles Davies?)

My best attempt at describing it is the hook goes....

Bah..bah..bahbah
Bah..bah..bahbah
Bah..bah..bahbah baaaaaa

I reckon if you know your jazz and you speak through the above you'll know what I mean!!

Even if its not Miles Davis, listen to So What and drift away...

That sounds like part of Pictures of Spain but could be wrong.

Ah um…

Not sure. Sounds… kind of… blue?

You might get an answer round about midnight.

That's not jazz, that's Thus Spake Zarathustra, except you missed the dumdumdumdumdumdumdums. And an extra baaaa in the last bar

Haha, that would be easier! Tried singing into Shazam, didn't work!

All these suggestions so far are dead familiar to me, all stuff that was on constantly in my house growing up.

I probably shouldn't have said it's brass, it might not be.

The notes are quite stoccato and it's up tempo.

Tried singing into Shazam

Google has singing recognition, try that.

"on your mobile device, open the latest version of the Google app or find your Google Search widget, tap the mic icon and say “what's this song?” or click the “Search a song” button. Then start humming for 10-15 seconds. "

Bah..bah..bahbah

Surely if it's Jazz, the hook goes more like:

kjbae uabw oiwefnwv

ubwavouvw lfenwei lnfwiv

;iwvwvn ;knvw~mwv

;owv[pvwv

We've not got there yet.

I think So What could work as a good substitute though if I can't crack it.

Only had to listen to the first note and I knew it was right straight away 🤓👍👌😜
