I need a new torch for work but as it lives in my flight bag, it needs to be powered by AA/AAA batteries as I will always forget to recharge a torch!

Compactness is important, thanks!

I carry a Manker E02ii on my keys, is a VERY good little light. Selecting that from a good few other torches I own, including a few other AAA ones

Lumintop Tool AA 2.0
270 real lumens on a rechargeable AA (ie eneloop)
220 real Lumens on an ordinary AA
650 real lumens on a 14500 lithium ion rechargeable. (AA sized li-ion)

Nice little torch.

I’ve got half a dozen or more of these stashed around the house and in cars. Cheap small and kick out a decent light…

Happy with my klarius 700. Can run a 14500 for high power or AA if required. Has lock function to prevent accidental operation

The last Chinese DealExtreme torch I bought was for an 18650 cell. But it came with an insert that would take 3 AAA batteries. I haven't used the adapter but I've no reason to doubt it.

Those little Lumintop flashlights that papamountain linked to are excellent. Get some 14500 Li-ions and a good charger, plus a little case that takes four AA cells, along with some regular AA’s, and you’re good to go. At that price, you can afford two or three, bought at different times, and stick them on different sets of keys, or on a lanyard and tuck one into a pocket.
