We will be in touch
I used to use the excellent TomTom speed camera app for Android but have switched to iPhone and it doesn't exist unfortunately.
Is there anything out there that works well on iOS?
Cheers
Have a look at Waze, it’s free and will do the usual sat nav stuff and show speedlimits and will warn of upcoming speed cameras both perminant and reported mobile ones
Does the actual TomTom app not have this feature built in? I use TomTom on my iPhone, have done for nearly three years, two of which were for my job driving for British Car Auctions, and I’m pretty sure it pings up cameras, and allows interactive notifications while in use.
Cheers I've got Waze but it doesn't seem to warn unless you're using it for nav?
Or does it and I've missed it?
Or I need to turn volume up?
I'll give it another go.
@countzero does it work when not navigating? Just with the app open and displaying a map?
I thought Google maps itself does this now? Was in my mate's car last week and he had Apple CarPlay + iPhone with Google Maps as an app and it warned of speed cameras.

Appears a bit random, sometimes it picks them up, the next day it won’t mention the very same camera. Plus it warns you way too late.
Are we not going to lecture the OP about how if he drove within the speed limit he wouldn't need the app???
This place has gone downhill 😉

Don't worry the nice policeman did that for you at the weekend 🙂 £100 for the pleasure, would have been much cheaper to let you lot do it.
"Cheers I’ve got Waze but it doesn’t seem to warn unless you’re using it for nav?"
Waze should warn you of hazards and speed cameras even if you are not asking it to navigate. Just make sure the app is running and not asleep. If it is not giving you warnings you check your settings or volume.
I use CoPilot GPS for nav on the iPhone and it's pretty good on cameras too, with the proviso that I don't drive that much at the moment. You can set the alert distance for warnings as well. I can't remember how the pricing structure works though - I've had it for years.
glad to hear you’ve learnt your lesson then & aren’t planning on doing it again!Don’t worry the nice policeman did that for you at the weekend
Oh wait
Shame they can’t hand out a ban based on the OP 😀

I wish I was perfect like you 🙂
You can be though! I believe in you. Just take small steps. Step 1: don’t drive like a **** 😂😂😂
I'll bare it in mind thanks 😀
And back on topic, I'll give Waze another shot.

The warning is in plenty of time for fixed cameras in my experience (mainly M3 in the 'dumb' motorway section around J2-5). They are shown on the map way in advance of the warning as well. The appearing and disappearing could be mobile cameras as it does indicate these in a different way (though for the M3 ones we did get a mobile warning for the fixed ones which is clearly idiots reporting them wrong).
So Waze does work without navigating. I think I'll stick to using that. I think it might have been an iPhone volume user error 🤪
The TomTom app is pretty expensive on a subscription basis.

Less than the £100 for not being "perfect" when when being observed though I'd wager

£100 in 18 years which I don't think is too bad 😁
(The app is about £18/year).
