Saving Private Ryan for me, there are many of course Joe v's the volcano is high up there for me along with Big but if I could only ever watch one more Tom Hanks film it would be Saving Private Ryan.

Big. No seriously. Not his best film but it's an amazing performance- he does OTT when he has to but the subtlety is lovely.

Big, Apollo 13 or Dragnet for me.
I can't like Castaway simply because of all the FedEx adverts throughout the whole bloody film.

You can just imagine the arguments in the filum company over whether to stick faithfully to the true story, or to start dramatising it...
Reading the posts on here I am surprised just how many good films he has actually made.
It's odd I know but I thought Apollo 13 was a bit dull, the film that is. The subject matter was excellent, but the acting was mediocre ...
I chose Castaway because for 9/10ths of the film Hanks is in monologue mode, hard to do that 😉

Forest Gump. His performance in that is just brilliant but then again he is excellent in pretty much all his films.

The good thing about this thread is that it's out at least two films on my to watch list. Dragnet and Joe Vs the Volcano so far
Dragnet, but then I see that as more of a Dan Aykroyd film, he steals all the limelight

Just been to see Captain Philips and I'd say he's up for an Oscar for it.
The money pit is the finest Tom Hanks film.

Well we've just been to see Captain Phillips & it is absolutely brilliant. Hanks is superb playing the part.
One of the best films I've ever seen.
