Evening all. I've got a few days off next week and I'm struggling to think what we (Mrs, little Miss (22 months old) and myself) can do? We don't mind a bit of a road trip. Either a day trip or an over nighter.
We went to Chester Zoo a couple of months back, which was ace. Not sure what to do this time though. Little one loves animals, fish and water.
In this weather the Northumberland beaches would be hard to beat, Bamburgh in particular. But possibly wrong side of country?
Dunno what happened there, anyway, Sundown Adventureland is between the A1 and Lincoln, brilliant for under 10s.
Laa’l Ratty (ravenglass miniature steam train) & muncaster castle?
The North is a tad ambiguous. Which counties?
Ravenglass is a good shout. Later in the year their Christmas trains are properly magical.
This place is fantastic. Get there early as it gets really busy. https://www.theicecreamfarm.co.uk/
the beaches up here (Northumberland & Durham) are stunning at present & the constant heat is starting to dispense with the afternoon frets.
We're in Cumbria but don't mind traveling a couple of hours or so. We've recently been to Muncaster Castle, lal ratty could be a good shout.
That theme park looks good, not sure if she'll deal with queueing for any amount of time though..
Northumberland does looks pretty stunning, all good suggestions so far.
Northumberland beaches take some beating yes I'm biased.
Bamburgh is good but pull up OS Maps for other hidden ones.
Oh errrr Northumberland is shit don't visit.
Eureka the national children's museum in Halifax is brilliant for a day out. The Mattel play centre at the Albert dock in Liverpool is also worth a luck if there's any interest in Thomas, Fireman Sam or Bob the Builder. If you're looking for something outside try the ice cream farm in Cheshire or Farmer Teds near Ormskirk - all really good and within a couple of hours depending how far into Cumbria you are.
He said North.

I’ll have to disagree with you there. We found it tired, smelly and the queues miserable. Aside from the play garage there was NOTHING that entertained my 2 & 4 yr old. Sainsbury’s next to the entrance was more fun
