“No mum, that’s a starling, I’m behind you!”

“That’s better, thank you!”

The irony being that the food mum’s giving baby is all around it, all it’s got to do is pick it up! Lazy little wretch!

That grass needs cutting!

A friend of mine’s front garden, with lovely clouds.

The night sky from my front garden; who sez you can’t see stars in an urban environment! There’s Ursa Major, Polaris and Ursa Minor, Cassiopeia, Perseus, part of Auriga, Camelopardalis and a few other minor asterisms. Ten second night view with the phone resting on the roof of my car. ?

First time I’ve tried this, a photo I’ve just taken of the Milky Way from my back garden, using a GorillaPod analog. I’ve done a wee bit of tweaking, but just a bit of increased contrast.

It’ll be nice when it’s finished, but what with Brexit, Covid and government spending cutbacks, who knows when that’ll be… ?

Early ride this morning. Rained for most of it, but had to stop to take the 1st, as in person it was pretty special.

Is anyone else getting auto-subscribed to this thread and getting notifications every time someone posts in it? Every time I clear the tick from the  "Notify me of follow-up replies" box at the bottom of the page, it re-checks it when I leave the thread. Now all these photos are ace and all that and I do choose to look at them, but I don't need a notification every time there's a new one!

I have posted in the report issues thread, but just wondered if anyone else was getting this?  Only seems to be this thread for me.

I might get quite good at this one day

@blokeuptheroad - not that I’ve noticed, I’ve never bothered, and I can’t say that I’ve seen any notifications.

@blokeuptheroad - I missed the big blackberries down the road, but if I remember to take a box with me, there’s still quite a few by the river in Slaughterford, and my raspberry canes are still producing berries; I had some last night with lemon sorbet and double cream, very yummy it was!

I had a couple of these along with it, the ones from Frome Brewery on the ends. [img] [/img]

@reeksy - Python? Or C++…

For a small tree, looks like I’ll get a few decent apples from it this year. Apparently, the trick is to water it a lot more than you’d expect. Who knew? I certainly didn’t.

Now this is printing! None of your QuarkXpress malarkey!

Just our resident python @countzero We think it may be the same one that's been hanging around for years...getting bigger and bigger. Nearly as thick as my legs and over 2.5m now.

Uffington White Horse, with Brize Norton off in the distance, and a kestrel and a raven enjoying the strong wind coming up the face of the hill. Lots of kestrels there today, at least five or six, I watched one female munching on something as she hovered on the wind, probably a field mouse or a vole. Kites, swallows, crows as well. The ravens enjoying doing aerobics just for the shits’n’giggles.
Just a lovely place to be on a day like today.
