Great name.

I'm scared to listen in case they can't live up to it.

Worth checking out their album Teens of Denial, it's a bit of a grower. Ended up on a lot of year end lists and is one of my favourites from last year. Just don't shoot the messenger if it's not your cup of tea.

@rusty, CSR are pretty good, heard them on 6music quite a bit, not entirely sure about the name myself, though.

Really good album that...one of the best of the year for me. Awesome video for this track from the album also.

I, having been perusing the Uncut albums of the year list, had a listen to Cate Le Bon (din't like), Skepta (did like some of it) and The Avalanches (some of it really good, some not so, pretty much how they were when they first came out really).
And, after a cheeky download, the new XX album - coupla corkers on there.

...My shitty mixing, it sounded sooo good in the moment! That's what you get for recording your first mix of the year with records you just bought! 🙄 😆

Santa Cruz ?– What Is Love? (Crystal Meth Boogie)

"A 16 minute insane and epic black acid fuzz drug rock metal track by Santa Cruz from the westcoast of Holland, old ZZ Top meets Danzig meets Goatsnake."
"Very sinister, very insane, very dramatic and very heavy psychedelic/psychotic doom/drone/boogie/boner rock song of 16 minutes, Orange Sunshine's black ritual acid rock drug metal project!"

@saxonrider

That's my daughters' favourite band. They're 12 and 10

[creates dichotomy actually because i quite like what i've heard too, but to admit I like it would be to admit their taste is OK, and would also immediately ruin it for them. Parent dilemmas]

theotherjonv,

It's your obligation as a parent to tell them you like it, put it on and start to dad dance 🙂

Speaking of Bonobo and mixes here is a mix I did fairly recently....if anyone is bored enough to have a listen. It's kind of similar to the stuff he mixes (without the talent obviously) and it has a couple of his tracks/remixes on it.

possibly in just a pair of bib 3/4's and a bobble hat

(which is broadly speaking how the process started by which i came to have 2 daughters)
