Well, it's a bit late for that question now.

I shaved and I don't like the result. Had a solid beard, hadn't shaved for 18 months other than the odd bit of topiary. For some odd reason I listened to the GF and trimmed it this morning. Left 1/2" on there, but I feel naked and have the feeling my face was fatter than when I woke up this morning.

Genuinely pissed off, which i know is pathetic, and annoyed at the GF.

In the same boat. I went back to a no. 3 length beard instead of my over winter covid beard this week. I had to. People were asking if I had eaten recently and had a safe place to sleep.

I look a lot younger apparently, but my face feels cold.

I still need a haircut.

It'll grow again. I went from a 3-4 up to a 7 over lockdown. Apparently I now have a beard. It's been 3-4 for 11 years. And red. Shoot me.

That's facial hair ?

Do you have a very long nose and two droopy jowls by any chance ?

Only remnants that I rescued, and then flushed down the bog with the rest.

I still need a haircut.

As of last week I'm rocking a man bun.

Full beard and man bun was probably scoring highly on the hipsterscale, not helped wearing a red flannel shirt at work.

All hair is pubic hair, apart from what grows on your scalp, hence the similarity

I made this mistake last month. Only topped off by I actually shaved, and she decided she didn't like it.

On the upside, the last 4 years has clearly been stressful as I've aged from about 13 to at least mid 20's. At this rate I'll catch up with my real age sometime in my 40's 🤣

My moustache looks like this now. Was going to make it like Poirot but end up Japanese style plus a goatee. Samurai Helmet (Ref: Helmet with half-face mask

You'll get used to it. Anyway, beards are for winter. Spring is the time to get rid.

A fair point, well made. A clean face will make sure I get Vitamin D in the coming months.

Soon it is time to get my bike back from its winter shed and a full face motorbike helmet is no place for a beard that encourages charitable donations.

Had a solid beard,

*looks at picture*

Where is the rest of it?

I shaved mine off then took a DE to it a few months ago. got told in no uncertain terms to grow it back. #keeper

Not for me it ain't. That only applies to the fair-weather (foul-weather) beardies. Some of are hard-core.

Same here. Have had a decent beard for most of the past 12 months. 4 days after a zero trim, I'm still feeling the chill round my chops.

I will keep mine for many years to come considering I have no hairs on top of my head.
Actually a bit lazy to shave ... 😅

p/s: if any of you want some Italian Proraso shaving cream/form/aftershave etc there are plenty at TK Maxx at the moment. Price is also cheaper than anywhere online. I was going to buy some but since I stopped shaving and have plenty left I ain't buying more otherwise I would.

Definitely a seasonal beardist. Nature's facewarmer is useful, but I prefer stubble for the warmer seasons. Plus mine is going grey/white so I look much younger without!

I can't grow a beard as it'd look like I'd put my head on upside down

There are still people who think beards are cool?

Sorry but you don't look like a swashbuckling adventurer beating a path through the jungle to a lost city of gold. You look like a train spotter on the way to the comic shop.

Mine is not for fashion nor trying to look cool.

In our belief (a belief that makes no sense to others but hey ...) not everyone is suitable or allowed moustache or beard as growing them may bring the person either good or bad luck. In my case I have to grow them now but in my younger days I was told to shave them off ...

So if everything has been well for you with your moustache or beard let it be but if you notice a lot of "bad luck" etc since you started growing them then it is not for you.

Also in certain cultures it is a sign of disrespect if a younger person has more moustache or beard than the elders. My uncle, who was a "hells angel" biker, used to piss off my grandpa for growing them.

If I shave I resemble Casper the friendly ghost or Robocop without the helmet. Used to have an epic wizard/Billy Gibbons beard. When everyone grew a beard in lockdown I did the opposite so I could wear face masks. The beard is back now though.

No regrets. 48 years and counting. It started off black though.

I started to grow a beard for the first time ever when the first lockdown started and was unsure whether to keep it or not. Then I had the clippers slip when I was giving it a no6 trim and had to go down to a no2/3 to make it look tidy! Vowed right there and then to keep it at at least a 5 as my face felt naked.

Add in the time I save every morning not having to shave and it's definitely staying for a while.

Beards have always been cool. Way before they were a fashion trend. I’ve never understood shaving. Just seems like a ridiculous concept to me. Who wants to have the face of a child? Even a couple of days growth is better than the shiny hairless face. Beards are natures face defence. Keep you cool in summer, warm in winter and help the skin underneath. They’re ****ing ace

Why would you flush it down the toilet? That seems like an odd thing to do. Why not put it in the bin?

Was going to shave mine right down for a job interview but then though did it they either like me as I am or they don't I'm not pretending to be something I'm not.

Anyway got the job.....or maybe the beard got me the job? But the beard will be happy it's not going to be under a mask for 8hrs a day in a few weeks!

Beards are easy to grow but hard to keep tidy if you don't stay on top of it. It's about the same level of effort as shaving a couple of times a week.

I've had mine for 8 years and am happy enough. Lockdown meant no client visits so I could embrace my inner Fidel Castro. Sadly it's all tidy now

The biggest drawback is when you're cooking a roast and you end up with lamb beard.

I grew my first beard about 7 years ago, at the ripe old age of 36. My wife hated it. I shaved it off after two years. What have you done that for? I've got used to it now. Urgh. Anyway, I grew it back (I totally prefer my bearded face to my non-bearded face) until recently. I did a few shifts helping out on ICU at the hospital I work at, and needed a clean shave for the facemasks. Once the shifts were done the first thing my wife asked was when I was going to grow the beard back. I hadn't really thought much about it, so I said it may be a while as I'd enjoyed the clean feel. It turns out she had realised that clean shaven I look like my mother! Can't really blame her for wanting me to grow it back, so I have!

had to shave mine off again for work requiring BA kit. will be grown back asap as a beard makes my face look socially acceptable. clean shaven with a skinhead, i look like i should be kicking people to death in the street or eating the eyeballs of my victims in a remote woodland shack.

My face stays bald but my jowls get a weird moulting dog look

I did exactly the same a week ago!!
took off most of the beard, leaving about 8mm of stubble... I miss my old beard!!
Also..i did a TERRIBLE neck line as was ruching, adn now I feel like this...!!!

anyway..it'll grow back, so i'm not too worried!!

Rode to work this morning and I felt naked.

Think it's a cunning plot by the GF to get me to go to the hairdressers. My locks and man bun just look out of place now.

The regrowth starts now.

I never understand guys who go against their partners wishes and grow beards - or shave them off - when their partner hates it and continues to hate it. Some seem to do it just to show they can “do what they want” and they don’t care about their partners preferences.
My wife hates facial hair on me so I’ve always made sure I’m clean shaven so she wants to kiss me more - that’s a winner for me!
If all I need to is shave properly and comb my (luxuriously thick and beautiful) hair then that’s pretty easy compared to what ladies do.

Why would your partner want to make you do something you don't want to ?

Seems They just want to show they can force you into anything against your will.

As opposed to partners that want to force you to be something other than yourself?
