I need to replace 10 4" tiles in a shower where an old electric shower has been removed.
The wall is skimmed plasterboard but while taking off the old tiles the skim and top layer of paper came off the plasterboard - area is about 8" square in total.
I presume I need to fill these bits before fitting new tiles - what should I use?

I'd not bother - I use CTF3 tile adhesive, and if you mix it thick, you can "build" out a good 10mm if necessary.

Just take care when you apply it so you get it fairly flat.

Look up a product called Easyfill - it's a cross between polyfilla and real plaster. Slap it on with something flat and then sand down - it sands really well.

As Shibboleth has said, if you won't see any of the damage for the new tiles, just glue the new tiles on with a thick adhesive mix and try to get them flat and straight.
