My Blackburn rack has cracked on one of the welds. It's hardly worth paying to have it repaired professionally, but was wondering if anyone local has a tig welder and could pop an inch of weld onto it in return for some ales or biscuits? Don't know owt about welding alu so not sure how difficult it will be or if it'll even work...

Cheers

I am, but it's Matt B who tends to wave the Tig torch, especially when it comes to Al. I'll have a word with him, but we're packing the workshop to move right now, so it might be August before we can take a look.

Alphaweld in Stoney Middleton/Calver might be worth a shout.

They used to come with a lifetime warranty. Is that still the case?

Cheers all. Not in a huge rush. This rack is probably about 10 years old and is fairly battered, though I'll check with Blackburn to see if it's covered.

Ta,

If you have got a hose clamp in a suitable size, put that on as a splint.
