I need an additional bike rack and am considering buying a 532 rack in addition to my 391 Pro racks, because it's lighter and cheaper. Will I regret that?

Secondly, I seem to spend an eternity 'threading' my racks through the T-Slots to the position they need to be on the bar. They seem to need endless coaxing and get stuck a lot. Occasionally they go through like a dream. Is there a technique I'm missing? Currently I put the rack on the roof loose, thread the square bolts through attached to the rack. (It's not practical to leave them assembled.)

Silicon spray on the t-slots.

Store them 'together'.

Appreciate its not ideal for everyone, but I've perfected the technique of taking the roof bars and 3 x 591 thules off in one unti, so I don't remove the bike racks at all...

I slide the T-Nuts onto the roof bars on their own, then drop the rack onto them, thread the clip things on and tighten them up.

I leave mine together and take the whole thing off as one unit.

I can do it on my own, with two people it's easy.

Can you use the clamps that are usually for non Thule bars? They're much easier to put on and off.

I leave the T-bolts attached to the bike carrier. Then slot it in once the roof bars are re-installed (more or less in the same place as they usually go). Once they are all in (you may need to move the rear single one along a bit, put upwards pressure on the bike rack then slide them along the roof bar. It's the bottom of the bike rack that drags, so by lifting it a little they slide along fine. Mine are old and crusty and I've not problems with this technique. You might need to give them a little wiggle to get the lugs aligned into the slots in order to correctly clamp them down, but it's super easy.
