Mrs.T announced today that we must begin the hunt for new furnishings for Casa Tankslapper. Now apart from the fact that I like the suite we have; my seat has been well moulded over years of grinding my butt into the 3 seater and ostensibly throwing all cushions away (who here thinks 'scatter cushions' are a good idea?!!!) So today we stalked into the SCS blighted retail hell that is WREXHAM!

I'm sorry to say this but the standard of your average super saving, value warehouse, gimp infested (can I help you?!!!) trash cave is bloody awful if truth where known. There's amoebae on Saturn with greater textile dexterity than what I witnessed today; shocking that is if I didn't think that a face plant on the edge of a rock hard, razor sharp sofa edge for an obnoxious 3 year old was a good idea!!!

Anyway, has anyone any idea where I can find decent sofas this side of Hull?

Cheers
TS

I'd steer well clear of the DFS, SCS places, utter shite

somewhere like this? or John Lewis?

We bought ours from Barker and Stonehouse. They sell nice stuff. Might be a bit far to travel though.

Arighi Bianchi is a good store, but Macclesfield is not that close to Hull. They will deliver anywhere though.

BTW scatter cushions should actually be called clutter cushions. It's a female thing whereby everything has to be to fussy and frilly and largely unnecessary. 😆

Keep it simple, that's what i say!

We got ours from M&S.

They seem to have fairly regular offers and the sofas are comfortable.

3 years interest free as well.

I'll echo the sentiments of avoiding DFS. My 3 year old sofa from DFS is falling to pieces. Two legs have snapped off and various other bits have broken. Absolute junk.

When you find some you like, it is worth looking on ebay for the same model name - you can often buy direct from wholesalers for a lot less than the main stores.

Cheers one and all - the notion of bombarding Mrs.T with 'other' store options is having the desired effect in causing utter option confusion!!! 😆

Ta muchly!

Try Argos at least there you can try and if you dont like them send them back, also make sure they fit through your front door.

Theres also a settee place that makes their own behind Next on sealand road, chester go down the side of the old pc world and theyre in the courtyard, large showroom and one in warrington, nice people ive worked for them.
