So the church sits between 2 multis, 70 metres apart and 22 stories high IIRC. Both coming down on Sunday with the church to be left intact and open on Wednesday

I can see why the church should be saved, it's a gem of a building ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Looking at the aerial photo it should be easy enough.

They'll scaffold the church and protect it from the dust most likely.

Lucky there's no graveyard - the noise from those explosives could wake the dead!

If it goes wrong and they have to claim on insurance, do you think the insurance company could cite an act of god?

do you think the insurance company could cite an act of god

Or an inaction of God in preventing it?

why the effort to protect the church? Architecturally bland. Flatten it, start again.

Gotta be Catholic - CofE kept all the nice old churches and Catholics got all the horrid new ones.

Courier says area to be cleared by 10, IIRC there was a couple of hours hanging about when the Jamaica St towers came down.

Why are they saving such a pointless piece of architectural blandness? - God knows.

Think I'll head up there myself on Sunday. Nice to see the end of those bloody things, I remember going up there years ago with my Dad collecting Littlewoods Pools and finding a nice human turd in the stairwell... Nice!
