To cut a long story short...
Got a pounding headache after running up stairs on Monday.... took pills, went to sleep.
Pounding headache from riding 200yds last night. Nhs direct says a + e, cue mri scan (clear) and today I'm due a lumbar puncture. Otherwise know as a
Spinal Tap.
Woo. Up to 11.
Dude! fingers crossed for ya. sounds right to get it checked out...
We need more wood, must get more wood. Its that hangover from that night... ๐
I would recommend you try to curl into as tight a ball as pods when they're doing it..
Increases the gaps between discs and makes it quicker and less painful..
Apparently.
Mate, hope it goes well for you. Fingers crossed it's something and nothing.
On a serious note, I think you are probably suffering from stress. Stress isn't always obvious, it can be a constant state where you are adapting/performing just above.

That's made my skin go all funny. Don't like the sound of that at all, hope it's not as bad as it sounds.
You poor fing ๐
Have never had one but think it's definitely a grit-your-teeth-and-go-to-your-happy-place-in-your-head type experience. Hope it's over with quickly and it turns out to be something of nothing (not something AND nothing as my lovely husband put it....!)
lumbar puncture
I had one when I was 5 - took until into my 20s before I lost the images of the event...

Ah - I miss my days of jabbing paitent's backs with a nice Quinke.....
DrP
done and dusted. not as grim as I thought though the anesthetic is now wearing off.....
Spinal Tap.Woo. Up to 11
the pain certainly does. good luck with that.
t though the anesthetic is now wearing off.....
you get anesthetic - I am pretty sure when I was 5 I couldn't have any and they had to hold me down - hence why I could remember it for so long!
bet you had a smaller needle.....
You had an anesthetic? You lucky bugger, I didn't. I also made the mistake of looking at the needle prior to the procedure. ๐ฏ
I also asked if it would hurt and at first they said no so ask them to be honest and with a wry smile he said yes! He wasn't wrong.
Did you have to lie flat for four hours and drink lots of water too?
Edit; Damn you DrP, I just clicked on your link and I'm now shuddering just thinking about it. ๐ฟ
yeah I'm just being a big girl now! ๐
