He is a fine rugby referee and was one of the first prominent gay people to "come out" in rugby. He is a well loved character so his treatment in the game makes for an interesting story along with Gareth thomas.

I have, but it wasn't until you said "rugby referee" that I realized where I knew the name from. Maybe a title like "Interview with rugby referee Nigel Owens" would be less confusing.
