Specifically for my wife and son while I’m riding…
any recommendations for a nice walk and/or good pub lunch within a thirty minute drive or so? Thanks
The Three Horseshoes Inn at Groesfford was lovely for lunch a few years ago and still has a very good Google rating.
It’s also a nice drive over.
Some nice walks around there too.
If the weather is clear then it doesn’t take long to drive up to the Storey Arms* car park and head up Pen y Fan.
*not a pub!
the Big Pit is an amazing museum
I was going to say the same, though its around 40 minutes away. There is a lovely bar/eatery in Ebbw Vale too, which is just off the return journey, Morgans Bar, Ebbw Vale
Garwnant Visitor Centre is just up the road towards Brecon.

There is a waterfalls car park before Ystradfelte from that direction that is a bit quieter than from the other side.
