Anyone seen this yet?  I did last night - superb film and such a shame that there were only about thirty people watching it.

The 3D especially brought the whole thing to life.

I saw it on the live broadcast a couple of weeks back; very moving without being mawkish or pitying.

I'm hoping for some DVD release before christmas too.

I’ll be watching on Sunday.  Trailer and making of were special themselves.

If you get the chance to watch the 3D version then it’s well worth it.

Just finished watching it, very powerful and sombre viewing, the remastered footage really does make a huge difference.

To go through the horror of WW1 then to come home to mass unemployment, just hideous. We really are capable of the most unimaginable things aren't we.

The new metal poppy badges say Thank You.

Sorry would be more appropriate.

Sadly plenty of today’s veterans also unemployed and homeless - seems to be the way of it.

Thought it was a great programme - the very last quote was genius.

That was pretty harrowing - must have been hell for those men to witness and live through what they did...and they were the ‘lucky’ ones

If that doesn’t convince anyone about the utter, utter futility of war, then I guess nothing will. Extraordinary piece of work from Peter Jackson. I have a pocket knife that belonged to a relative who was killed at Arras on the 9 April 1917. He was 20 years old, I have better idea now than I ever had before just what he and his comrades went through.

RIP Dickie.
