We've had a visitor to our 'pound here in Fife. He brought us some chicken and some cheese, and spent some time talking to us. He said he'd do what he could to let people know that we need a new home - there are just 7 pound spaces here, and currently 15 pound dogs.

Our visitor said that if anyone is able to take us, then he'll pick us up and arrange to get us "done" - whatever that means - before we go to our new homes.

My name is Rosie, I'm an older girl, I've had a bit of mange but am receiving treatment and my coat is growing back nicely.

I'm Buster, I'm about three and I need a new home.

[IMG] [/IMG]

I'm Jake, I'm an older boy.

[IMG] [/IMG]

My name is Rebel, a younger boy.

[IMG] [/IMG]

I'm Jet, a male Lab x (we think I'm under 5).

[IMG] [/IMG]

I'm Sandy, I'm a pretty Collie x girl.

[IMG] [/IMG]

My name is Max and I'm 5.

[IMG] [/IMG]

Sparky, a young male Lurcher.

[IMG] [/IMG]

I'm Diesel, 5 year old boy.

[IMG] [/IMG]

I'm a young girl - they've called me 'Doodle !

[IMG] [/IMG]

My name is Pearl - I'm a 9 or 10 year old girl and would like a nice retirement home.

Can you help us? If so please get in touch with Taylorplayer on this forum.

Signed the U.W.S.

I'm sorry but am unable to help. Presumably this is due to the recession?

It's terribly sad but wish you well in finding kindly owners for them.

I've been offered funding by the local pet shop to have ONE dog neutered & vaxed if I take him/her on as foster. She'd be hoping to recoup this as far as possible upon rehoming - but if anyone's interested, it could be arranged that a neutered & vaxed dog was available(for a donation to go towards the next one...)

Transport can be (and has been for 1) arranged from up here to down south as far as Surrey.

Good luck with it all, can't be easy not to say quite distressing too. As much as I'd love another dog, at the end of the day it's a huge tie and expense so would be happy being an 'Auntie'!

You are an Auntie... if I get one, will you look after it for me when I go off on adventures?

Choose the right dog, you can take it with you on your adventures.

Then it sounds like you need a pointer / malamute cross

Does the pound have a website that can take donations?

why? You just come into some money?

Then you need a Newfoundland / Basset cross

See, all you're doing is adding to the problem.

Shooduv taken it down the canal with a sack and some bricks, shown a bit of Social Responsibility...

White Hill Kennels

The pound charges £60 for a dog, they can't afford to neuter/vax at that rate. I may be able to help with transport if required.

Does the pound have a website that can take donations?

They don't have a website, but you could contact them as above - the council pays for 14 nights at the kennels, they're then expected to "move the dogs on". Some of the dogs have been with them 3 or 4 months. I'm sure they'd appreciate any support you can offer.
