The rules:

To add some relevance, nothing after the year 2000[/*]

It needs to be something you'd genuinely put on a TDK D90 for a best mate / girlfriend / boyfriend / other.

Anything else is fair game[/*]
Go. Add stuff! I've also just set-up a Spotify playlist to follow the thread here: https://open.spotify.com/user/11131010194/playlist/4Kgh5G59Ithdi8OjTgHeRb

And to kick things off, here's the Beasties with some sage words of advice, interspersed with plenty of other naughty ones:

"A good mixtape can put you in the right mood."

Joe Bataan - Subway Joe.

Would even make a Bishop throw down his staff, kiss his own ring and dance down the aisle.

I opened this thread thinking "it'll just be crusty old 70s rock" and the first thing I read is

nothing after the year 2000

So I wasn't far off!
Why not? Who wants to listen to the same old same old again? There's loads of good new music around.

I agree Peter. Random access memories for example is one of the best albums I have heard in decades.

Purely because it popped up on a Spotify station yesterday. Never considered myself a fan but a friend at Uni used to blare it out all the time and this took me right back to first year.

Your local Bishop quite flexible, is he?

Not the best, but not an obvious choice. And it does contain one of my favourite lyrics ever - Stevie Wonder & a dinosaur

It's a mixtape innit, not an iTunes playlist. Being as mixtapes got superseded back around 2000, that seemed like an appropriate cut-off point.

For me and in no particular order.

OPP - Naughty by Nature
Ice Ice Baby -Vanilla Ice
Smells like teen spirit - nirvana

No idea why i like those songs but they always seem to get the pedalling juices flowing

*watches with interest while rewinding C90 by spinning it around on a biro like a football rattle to save batteries*

EDIT: why's that not working then?!

It sometimes helps to delete the 's' from https

- actually no - its the '/embed' in the link - you've maybe copies a URL from a full screen version. swap the '/embed/' for '/watch?v='
