Another approval; I enjoyed watching Party Animals...shame in a way as I doubt we'll see a second series if he's now the new Doctor.

He was good in Party Animals - maybe too much of a gritty northerner for some tastes though.

One thought.....could the UK government and Civil Service please take some lessons in confidentiality from the Doctor Who team? He wasn't even in the list of possibles at Betfair and other bookies apparently. Good secret keeping!

not that i watch it, but i did feel a soupcon of anticipation when i read the headline "Morrissey to star In Dr Who Christmas special"

"Oh no, Daleks, now I'm really miserable!"

He (the real Morrissey) would have been fabulous.

of course a woman can be a doctor! durgh ๐Ÿ˜‰

i'm sure their ratings would hit the roof if they cast a woman - but once again a man made this 'decision' to cast another bloke ๐Ÿ˜†

Bit of a gripe here. Had to write about this today, looked to see what Digital Spy had done and saw they're filing it under "Cult".

Surely Doctor Who is about as cult as Coronation Street?

And yes, it's kids' TV - that's why they've cast an emo as the new Doctor.

For the hard of thinking, the DOCTOR can't be a woman unless he chooses to change gender, which is unlikely. However, there are female Time Lords; the Doctor has a daughter, and a Granddaughter, Susan, plus Romala was a Time Lord. I just don't see how the Doctor could become a woman and fit the continuity of forty-plus years of the series. Sorry to all the sexism conspirasists out there, but it ain't gonna happen. I would like to see Susan appear in the series, tho', I had a case of the hots for the actress who played her in the first series with William Hartnell.

I'm disappointed. He's no where near as nice as Tennant and i agree with foxychick - new doctor = hideous. That's Dr Who ruined for me then ๐Ÿ™

I thought it should be a woman as well.

That said I never liked it as a kid and it still doesn't do it for me for some reason.
