Apparently I've been living dangerously for many a year...
One running alongside a psychopath.
One of my sisters just bought a house not far from there...
[edit: not the psychopath, the road]
Just the kind of road thats had its speed limit increased to open up alternative routes that HGV's can use on their limiter without actually building any suitable new roads.
Its ok though itll only kill an extra six people but saves the transport industry £11 million..wonder who itll be?
saw a couple of blokes riding on the a66 at the weekend.
pretty suicidal imho.
Walk in the park vs the Bradford Ring Road (aka Bradburgring).

Ditto but with the A68 - a perfect storm of shitty sightlines, high speeds, narrow lanes and impatient drivers means I've never done 50m on that road and that was terrifying.

there's something there that i wonder about. a few weeks ago i passed a couple of guys riding on the A9 up near Drumochter Summit. A mentally busy road with cars, caravans, HGVs and the old A9, now a cycle path, about 20 yards away.
I know Snake Pass was pretty high on that list a few years ago - I climbed it on the MTB on the weekend and it was a little bit sketchy! 😳
My favourite was the one car that overtook on a blind bend with their hand firmly attached to the horn...
Frequently amazed by cyclists riding the A66 near Keswick right next to the cycle path which in my mind is perfect eg no daft markings, junctions, barriers, just easy pleasant riding use it myself every week.
I nominate the A338 between Ringwood and Salisbury, trundling Honda Jazz pensioners, single carriageway*, lots of side roads, people desperate to get past, and only *200m of dual lane just south of Salisbury. Huge amount of crashes and deaths on it. Closely followed by the nearby A31 across the New Forest.
Second that re Snake Pass, never again!
Shame cos the loop round from Hadfield via Cut Gate and Doctor's Gate is otherwise brilliant.
