I can clearly see smudgy fingerprints on the 'u' on my iPad, and I always put the 'u' into colour, or anything else that needs it. Not that I particularly care either way, it's the way I learned to spell those words, so it's automatic. I've read Bryson's books on language, and I know a lot of 'Americanisms' are Old English spellings or words, Fall, for Autumn, for example.
Either way, it's got to be better than txt spk, no?
