It's either that or deception though I think we all knew it was going to have to happen at some point in there. Interesting question is Mark Hamil going to do as Luke.

To be fair to Vue the online booking system felt like it was going to fall over lad night when I booked tickets for Bladerunner.

Awful website.

He's just not BAD enough! Vader was pure evil through and through, he used to kill admirals just for looking at him funny. You just know they're setting him up to come back to the good side in the 3rd movie and help Rey kill snokes. Which would such a shit end. He should be bad to the bone and then get killed being bad.

There's a reason he's only been doing cartoon voiceovers for the last 30 years

Overall it looks OK, at least finally breaking away from the episode IV rewrite that we saw last time,
Not sure it'll better Rogue1

Seems a shame they have spoiled Leia getting killed

Could be a trick, the end clip of Rey saying she needs something and Kylo Ren putting his hand out are blatantly two different scenes so maybe this is too?

Hopefully a lot of misdirection in there, obvious parallels to ESB are too obvious. Luke looking worried when Rey cracks the ground is wicked though. Tickets booked!

I'm really looking forward to this, but nowhere near as much as I'm looking forward to the Han solo prequel.

I'll go and see it at the cinema, with low expectations so hopefully will be pleasantly surprised. The one thing it's got going for it is that it literally cannot be worse than The Force Awakens!

I like where they were going with the new AT-ATs, basing them on a gorilla instead of a dog, but I don't think that they've pulled it off- the shoulders need to be much higher and the back end is still the same! Looks like a cut-n-shut lol

Where did the First Order get all its cash from? And how on earth did it hide building a Death Star and a load of AT ATs?

It’s still part of the federation I’m not sure they surrendered their bank accounts, they weren’t hiding anything.

Who cares anyway it’s brain off entertainment.

JarJar binks thing, Crap looking AT-AT's and Speeders that apparently have high speed agricultural ploughing implements. It's no Rogue One, it's disturbingly reminiscent of Episodes I-III.

At least Mark Hamils acting has improved a bit though. 😆

The trailers for Force Awakens and Rebel One both had fake spoilers and deleted scenes in, I wouldn't take much at face value.

Daisy Ridley still looks shit with a lightsaber tbh, she swings it like a mop. Darth Maul'd cut her into force winalot. But otherwise, looking forward to it massively. Trailer not a patch on the Force Awakens one, it made me want to rock out... But then it really was a bloody brilliant trailer.

It probably helps if you're invested in the franchise. I'm not, I typed out something about it being just a load of noisy cgi and over acting but each to their own.

looks like a return to cgi overkill, akin to the first 3 (awful) prequels

That Porg thing better not have much screen time, it has the potential to ruin the film

Come on, it may be a little fruity - but at least he's not the wooden actor that he was in Jedi.

I agree with the overuse of CGI, Rogue One felt pretty authentic because of the lower use of CGI and classic camera work.

Also has the potential to be awesome comic relief and the best thing in the film.

I grant you, it's almost certainly what you just said, but still.

Of course there was plenty of CGI, they used a lot of actual models as well though. It quite clearly looked better than the Force Awakens - to me anyway, it looked much more like Star Wars.

I’m going to come right out and say it. The ewoks were the best thing in RotJ and I liked The Force Awakens. Looking forward to this after. It may help to further dilute the taste of those god awful prequels

Funkmaster, there is no need to post gratuitous photos of Ann Widdecombe on STW, even in a thread discussing monsters from Star Wars.

My guess is that Luke will not turn to the dark side per se. He has simply realised that manipulation of the force by humans has caused all the universes problems and so he has decided to get rid of all the Jedi & Sith. Thus creating an agnostic utopia for all the little people who prefer to fight with blasters. Oh, wait...
